Studio Policy
Enrollment + Commitment
Enrollment reserves the student’s place in the studio. Families and students who enroll commit for a full semester (Fall Semester Aug-Dec, Spring Semester Jan-May).
summer camps
Summer Camps are offered during the 1st week of June as a way for students to continue through the summer. The cost is the same as your monthly tuition. Payment and participation is required for families who wish to continue the following school year. Families who are unable to attend summer camp may opt instead for video lessons.
TUITION + Payment
Monthly tuition is $160 per month and is paid in equal monthly payments on the 1st of each month. Tuition supports the full studio experience, including lesson time, planning, communication, studio administration, and events when applicable. Payments are collected by autopay unless another arrangement has been approved in writing.
Registration + Materials
A yearly studio fee of $70 is due at registration. This fee may cover method books, supplemental music, studio-licensed music, music lab subscriptions, printing, binders, recital materials, and administrative setup. Specialty books, exam/evaluation/festival fees, replacement books, and optional events may be billed separately.
CALENDAR
The studio calendar includes lesson weeks, studio breaks, group/performance weeks and optional events. Families are responsible for reviewing the calendar and noting closures and important dates.
Music lab
Music lab is an extension to a student’s lesson time but separate from the actual lesson. Students are strongly encouraged, but not required, to stay for this time. This is time spent independently working through planned activities involving technique, theory, rhythm, music appreciation, and composition using an iPad or keyboard. Students are expected to respect all studio property and to use equipment carefully. If a student does not respect the property in the lab, their use of the lab will be discontinued. Normal wear and tear of resources is expected. In extreme cases, if a student damages equipment due to intentionally harmful behavior, families will assume responsibility of replacement costs.
MISSED LESSONS
Your tuition reserves an exclusive time slot on the teacher’s calendar, along with other benefits in the studio. No credits, refunds, or make-ups will be given for missed lessons. If you cannot attend a lesson in person, you may request an online lesson (via Zoom/Facetime) or practice video option (Recorded and emailed). Please inform me in advance if you cannot attend. Please do not attend lessons in person if anyone in the family has symptoms of illness. On rare occasions when I must cancel a lesson, I will work with you to find a time for a makeup lesson at a mutually-agreeable time.
communication
Studio communication is handled through email or the parent portal account. Texting is reserved for same-day
urgent lesson updates only. I respond to messages during studio office hours, usually within 1 business days.

withdrawal
Students are expected to remain in lessons for the duration of the semester. This allows students and their
families to have the best possible experience in lessons. Withdrawal requests are granted at the end of the Fall
Semester if notice is given by December 1st or at the end of the Spring Semester during the re-registration
period.
MEDIA RELEASE
During lessons and other related events, the teacher reserves the right to use video recording or to take photographs of students for use in the studio scrapbook, advertising materials, lesson demonstration and studio websites/platforms. Photos taken by the teacher or that are shared with the teacher by other parents or students of gatherings or performances become the property of the studio and can be used at the discretion of the teacher in regards to the studio. The studio follows online safety rules in this matter.
