Teacher Responsibility My responsibility is to provide an atmosphere for learning and a well-balanced music education. Professional standards will be maintained and definite goals will be established for each student. It is my goal to give your child the best possible music education. I belong to professional organizations, attend workshops and educational programs, subscribe to professional publications, and engage in other activities on a continuing basis in order to provide opportunities for professional growth and enhance my own teaching skills. Tuition and Fees Monthly tuition is based on enrollment in the studio, not attendance. Tuition remains the same every month regardless of attendance or the number of weeks in the calendar. Tuition includes: Weekly private lessons Group lessons Books and materials Audio and/or video recordings Studio recitals Professional development for the teacher. There is a $25 registration fee per student upon enrolling in the studio. For students enrolled in in-home lessons, there is a $20/month travel fee (per family). Lesson Format Lessons will take place in your home or online. If you wish to change your lesson time or format, this may be done at the semester mark (subject to availability). Calendar Lessons are typically held weekly following the studio calendar. The studio calendar includes regular lessons, vacation weeks, and bonus group lessons that can be used for those unavoidable occasions when a student, or rarely, the teacher must miss a lesson. Missed Lessons Your tuition reserves an exclusive time slot on the teacher’s calendar, along with other benefits in the studio. No credits, refunds, or make-ups will be given for missed lessons. However, keep in mind there are up to 3 bonus group lessons scheduled throughout the year. If I must miss a lesson, I will reschedule with you or use one of the bonus group lessons. **Students enrolled in online lessons may take advantage of an exchange roster (ask me for details) or a recorded video lesson. **Please note: These options are only available to students enrolled in online lessons. Payments Payments are due by the 1st of each month and can be made with a credit card or check. A $20 late fee will be added to payments received on the 5th or later. Lessons will be suspended if tuition is not paid by the 10th. Discontinuing Lessons A 30-day notice is required prior to discontinuing lessons. If appropriate, a parent/student teacher conference may be scheduled before the last lesson to establish if this might be a temporary setback that can be resolved. Keep in mind that if you discontinue lessons, your spot in the studio cannot be held and you will need to re-pay the registration fee upon re-enrollment. Liability Release Piano By Andrew and Andrew Brothers are released from any liabilities, accidents or injuries that may occur from the enrolled student with participation of piano lessons and other related events. Media Release During lessons and other related events, the teacher reserves the right to use video recording or to take photographs of students for use in the studio scrapbook, advertising materials, lesson demonstration and studio websites/platforms. Photos taken by the teacher or that are shared with the teacher by other parents or students of gatherings or performances become the property of the studio and can be used at the discretion of the teacher in regards to the studio. The studio follows online safety rules in this matter. Amendment Clause This policy may be amended occasionally as needed. Studio clients may be notified of such amendments by letter, e-mail, or on the studio website at least 4 weeks prior to the effective date of the amendments. All these forms of notification shall be considered valid and binding on both parties. COVID-19 Amendment The safety and well-being of my students is my top priority! Piano By Andrew is closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19. The studio will adhere to the following guidelines: • A face mask will be worn by the teacher and student during lessons. • Hands must be washed prior to lessons. • All surfaces used during the lesson, including the piano, will be wiped down prior to the start of the lesson and immediately following the lesson. • Please call and let me know if you or your child are sick and I will stay home. If I am sick, I will stay home and conduct lessons online (if possible). • Should the need arise, all lessons will be conducted online only. The studio will takes its cue from the schools, as well as state and local leaders. In this event, the travel fee will be waived.
